Tel Aviv, April 22 (ANI/TPS): Israeli airstrikes overnight have destroyed approximately 40 engineering vehicles used by Hamas for terror-related activities. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that these vehicles were central to Hamas’ operations, including activities such as planting explosives, constructing underground shelters, breaching fences, and clearing rubble to find weapons and military equipment.
These vehicles were heavily involved in the October 7 attack, which targeted southern Israel. The engineering unit of Hamas utilized heavy equipment to breach the border fence, facilitating the entry of terrorists on motorcycles and pickup trucks. They also built improvised bridges and planted explosive charges to breach defensive structures.
In a similar attack earlier, on March 24, the Israeli Air Force targeted 100 pickup trucks and other vehicles associated with Hamas, some of which were used in the October 7 attack, hostage handovers to the International Red Cross, and weapon transportation. The October 7 assault resulted in 1,180 fatalities and the hostage-taking of 252 individuals.
