Tel Aviv [Israel], June 21 (ANI): The Israeli Air Force announced the targeted killing of Amin For Judaki, the commander of the second unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) unit in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC) Air Force, in a precision airstrike on Thursday.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Israeli Air Force said Judaki was responsible for orchestrating hundreds of UAV launches targeting Israeli territory from the Ahvaz region in southwestern Iran. “Yesterday, the Air Force attacked and eliminated Amin For Judaki… using fighter jets,” the statement read.
The post further stated that Israeli fighter jets were actively striking military infrastructure in southwestern Iran as part of ongoing operations.
The targeted assassination of Judaki comes amid heightened tensions and sustained military operations between Iran and Israel, which have entered their second week.
Meanwhile, The Times of Israel reported additional remarks by Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, who lauded the recent elimination of another key IRGC figure, Saeed Izadi, the chief of the Quds Force’s Palestine Corps.
“Saeed Izadi was one of the masterminds behind the October 7 massacre,” Zamir said, adding, “On his hands is the blood of thousands of Israelis.” He described Izadi as a critical link in the Iran-Hamas axis and a confidant of slain Hamas leaders Yahya Sinwar and Mohammed Deif.
Calling the strike a “tremendous intelligence and operational achievement,” Zamir declared, “There are no more cities of refuge in the Middle East,” signaling Israel’s intent to pursue IRGC operatives wherever they may be based.
As Israel intensifies its pressure campaign, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has reportedly nominated three clerics as potential successors, amid concerns for his safety and fears of Israeli assassination attempts. According to The New York Times, cited by The Times of Israel, Khamenei is currently hiding in a secure underground bunker, and his son Mojtaba Khamenei—long rumored to be the heir apparent—is not among the nominated successors.
The leadership shuffle comes in response to a string of Israeli strikes that have claimed the lives of several senior IRGC and Quds Force commanders over the past week. As the conflict deepens, both sides appear to be bracing for broader strategic consequences in the region. (ANI)
