Tel Aviv [Israel], May 6 (ANI): The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have launched a series of coordinated strikes across Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen, targeting infrastructure linked to Hezbollah and the Houthi militia, according to multiple official sources and reports.
In a statement released Monday on the social media platform X, the IDF detailed a strike on terror infrastructure at a Hezbollah weapons production and storage facility in Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley. The IDF said the facility had recently shown signs of Hezbollah attempting to re-establish its operational presence. Additional strikes were carried out in the Srifa area.
Calling the presence of Hezbollah weapons in these areas a “blatant violation” of prior understandings between Israel and Lebanon, the IDF stated it would continue to act against threats to Israeli security and “prevent any attempt by Hezbollah to reestablish its terror capabilities.”
Meanwhile, in a separate operation, Israeli Air Force fighter jets conducted air strikes on Houthi terrorist targets along Yemen’s coastline, specifically near the Hudaydah Port and the “Bajil” Concrete Plant east of al-Hudaydah. According to the IDF, these facilities serve as supply hubs for Iranian weapons and are instrumental in the construction of underground tunnels and terrorist infrastructure.
“The strike was conducted in response to repeated Houthi attacks on Israel, including the launch of surface-to-surface missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) targeting Israeli civilians,” the IDF wrote in another post on X. It added that precautions were taken to avoid damage to vessels docked at the port.
The IDF accused the Houthi militia of acting under Iranian direction and funding, with the intention of destabilizing the region and disrupting global maritime trade. The military reiterated its commitment to defend Israel against threats “at any distance.”
According to Al Jazeera, Israel’s broader offensive on Monday extended to Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen, resulting in at least 54 casualties in Gaza alone following a new wave of airstrikes.
These developments come amid escalating regional tensions, with multiple fronts now active in Israel’s ongoing military operations.
