
Shopian (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], April 27 (ANI): Amid the ongoing crackdown on terrorism in the region, the security forces and Jammu and Kashmir police administration have demolished the house of an active terrorist in Shopian district, following the deadly Pahalgam attack on April 22.
The terrorist, identified as Adnan Shafi from Wandina village in Zainapora tehsil, joined a terrorist organization a year ago and is believed to have been involved in the attack that claimed 26 lives, leaving many others injured.
In a separate operation, authorities also demolished the house of another suspect in Naz Colony, Bandipora district. This suspect is alleged to be involved in the same Pahalgam terror attack.
Additionally, on Saturday, the authorities demolished the house of another suspect in Chotipora village, Shopian district, linked to the assault. Another house belonging to Zakir Ahmad Ganie, a suspect from Mutalhama village in Kulgam district, was also demolished. Ganie is believed to have been involved in the Pahalgam terror attack and has been active in terrorist activities since 2023.
Earlier, on Friday, the house of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist Adil Thokar, also known as Adil Guree, was demolished. Guree, a resident of Guree village in Anantnag district, is suspected of playing a role in the Pahalgam attack. He is currently a most-wanted terrorist, and the Anantnag Police have announced a reward of Rs 20 lakh for information leading to his arrest. Two Pakistani nationals are also wanted in connection with the attack.
On the same day, a terrorist associate from Lashkar-e-Taiba, Altaf Lalli, was killed in an encounter with security forces in Bandipora district. Two security personnel sustained gunshot wounds during the encounter and are reported to be in stable condition after receiving medical treatment.
The demolitions and ongoing military actions are part of the efforts to neutralize the terrorist network responsible for the Pahalgam attack, which has ignited national outrage. The Indian Army is on high alert and has launched several search operations to apprehend the terrorists involved. The attack, which killed 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen, has sparked widespread protests across India, with calls for stricter actions against Pakistan. (ANI)
