New Delhi [India], June 30 (ANI): The International Solar Alliance (ISA) will host the second edition of its flagship events—the CEO Caucus and the International Solar Festival (ISF)—at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, from July 3–4, 2025. These gatherings aim to accelerate global solar adoption through collaboration, innovation, and public-private partnerships, ISA said in a statement on Sunday.
Launched in 2024, the CEO Caucus and ISF have become major global platforms shaping the future of solar deployment and innovation. Hosting these events at World Expo 2025—held under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”—underscores ISA’s commitment to transitioning the global solar movement from “Ambition to Action.”
“By convening leaders at World Expo 2025 in partnership with India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), ISA is reaffirming its dedication to a cleaner energy future,” said Ashish Khanna, Director General of ISA. “India’s leadership, having reached 224 GW of renewable capacity—including 108 GW from solar—as of April 2025, serves as an inspiration to the Global South. These platforms will further unite the 124 ISA member countries, including India and Japan, to share transformative stories, build partnerships, and drive solar-led job growth.”
The 2025 CEO Caucus, themed “Forging the Future of Solar: India-Japan Innovations for a Sustainable Asia,” will spotlight cross-border investment opportunities, resilient solar supply chains, and technological cooperation. A central feature will be the India-Japan Solar Industry Roundtable, which will explore areas such as battery storage, green hydrogen, and solar manufacturing—key to supporting India’s target of 500 GW renewable energy by 2030.
This follows the success of the June 2025 Brussels roundtable, which focused on Europe’s role in strengthening global solar value chains.
The second edition of the International Solar Festival on July 4 will celebrate grassroots innovation and youth leadership in solar energy. Sessions such as “Young G Limitless: Leading the Solar Takeover” will highlight contributions from young changemakers and tech influencers. Cultural segments like “Dastan-e-Aftaab (Story of the Sun)” will explore humanity’s shared solar heritage through the arts.
The first ISF, held in New Delhi in September 2024, attracted thousands of participants and championed themes including youth engagement, gender inclusion, entrepreneurship, and community empowerment.
The CEO Caucus and ISF are now envisioned as annual global events to foster solar policy dialogue, investment mobilization, and advocacy. Additional CEO Caucus roundtables are planned across Africa, the Asia-Pacific, and Latin America in 2025.
“These initiatives are more than events—they are movements,” said Mr. Khanna. “Through leadership, innovation, and youth-led action, we’re building the solar-powered world that the future demands. We invite stakeholders from governments, industry, finance, and civil society to join us in Osaka.”
Both events will be held at the Bharat Pavilion at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka. The CEO Caucus will take place on July 3, and the International Solar Festival will follow on July 4. The Expo, running from April 13 to October 13, is expected to draw 28 million visitors and is organized by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE). Its three core themes—Saving Lives, Empowering Lives, and Connecting Lives—align with ISA’s mission.
Launched in 2015 at COP21 by India and France, the International Solar Alliance now comprises 123 member and signatory countries. Headquartered in India, ISA works with governments and financial institutions to promote affordable, clean solar energy in sectors such as health, agriculture, transport, and power generation.
ISA has helped shape solar policy, pool demand to reduce technology costs, support access to finance, and deliver solar training and data resources. It has a special focus on the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS), ensuring equitable energy access and sustainable growth.
