Washington, DC [US], June 13 (ANI): Former US President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to Iran on Friday, urging its leaders to negotiate a deal “before it is too late” following a wave of Israeli airstrikes that reportedly killed several senior Iranian military commanders. The statement came amid soaring regional tensions and fears of wider conflict.
In a message posted on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “I gave Iran chance after chance to make a deal. I told them, in the strongest of words, to ‘just do it,’ but no matter how hard they tried, no matter how close they got, they just couldn’t get it done.”
Referring to the recent Israeli military offensive, Trump continued, “They are all DEAD now, and it will only get worse! There has already been great death and destruction, but there is still time to make this slaughter… come to an end. Iran must make a deal before there is nothing left, and save what was once known as the Iranian Empire.”
Trump emphasized the military strength of the US and its key ally Israel, saying, “The United States makes the best and most lethal military equipment anywhere in the world, BY FAR, and Israel has a lot of it—with much more to come—and they know how to use it.”
His remarks follow a massive Israeli military operation—Operation Rising Lion—launched Friday, targeting Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile infrastructure. According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the operation involved over 200 fighter jets and led to the elimination of several high-ranking Iranian officials, including the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, the Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and the Commander of Iran’s Emergency Command.
“These are three ruthless mass murderers with international blood on their hands. The world is a better place without them,” the IDF posted on X.
In a nationally televised address, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed the large-scale strikes and declared that the campaign would continue until the Iranian threat is fully neutralized.
“Moments ago, Israel launched Operation Rising Lion, a targeted military operation to roll back the Iranian threat to Israel’s very survival,” Netanyahu said. “We struck at the heart of Iran’s nuclear enrichment and weaponization programmes… We also struck at the heart of Iran’s ballistic missile programme.”
Netanyahu accused Iran of amassing enough highly enriched uranium to build nine nuclear bombs and warned that the regime could complete weaponization within months. He drew parallels to the Holocaust, emphasizing that Israel would not allow history to repeat itself.
“Eighty years ago, the Jewish people were victims of a Holocaust perpetrated by the Nazi regime. Today, the Jewish state refuses to be a victim of a nuclear holocaust perpetrated by the Iranian regime,” he said.
The Israeli Prime Minister also highlighted the broader threat posed by Iran’s missile arsenal, which he claimed could soon carry nuclear payloads and reach targets well beyond the Middle East, including Europe and the United States.
Netanyahu reaffirmed Israel’s support for regional allies and stressed that the conflict was with the Iranian regime, not its people. “Our fight is not with you,” he said, addressing the Iranian populace. “Our fight is with the brutal dictatorship that has oppressed you for 46 years.”
He also credited Israeli military actions with weakening Iran-backed groups in the region and triggering political changes in Lebanon and Syria. “We crushed Hamas. We devastated Hezbollah. We hit Iranian proxies in Syria and Yemen. And when Iran directly attacked us twice last year, we struck back inside Iran itself.”
Netanyahu concluded by warning of the global stakes: “We will not let the world’s most dangerous regime get the world’s most dangerous weapons. Iran plans to give those weapons to its terrorist proxies. That would make the nightmare of nuclear terrorism all too real.”
As international leaders scramble to contain the fallout, Trump’s warning underscores the mounting pressure on Iran to return to the negotiating table—before further escalation spirals out of control. (ANI)
