New Delhi, April 13 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday, accusing it of “ruining” the education system across the country, particularly citing the Gujarat model as a failure.
“This is the Gujarat model. This is the BJP model, which they want to implement across India. They want to keep the entire country illiterate,” Kejriwal posted on X (formerly Twitter).
He claimed that the BJP had not improved education in any state it governs and further alleged that the education system in Delhi is also being “destroyed” under BJP’s influence.
Reaction to Gujarat Schools Report
Kejriwal was responding to a post shared by Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav, who cited a May 2023 news report stating that not a single student passed Class 10 in 157 Gujarat schools.
Yadav wrote on X:
“The Gujarat model itself has failed… We will remove BJP and save the future!”
Kejriwal on Fee Hike Protests in Delhi
Kejriwal also highlighted recent protests by parents in Delhi over fee hikes in private schools, alleging the rise of an “education mafia” under the BJP-led central government’s influence.
“How dare the education mafia mistreat our children? Because the leaders and ministers are in their pockets — just like before our government came to power,” he said.
AAP Accuses BJP of Siding with Private Schools
Joining the attack, Delhi AAP President Saurabh Bharadwaj accused BJP ministers of ignoring the issue.
“Parents are protesting outside private schools, but BJP ministers are busy playing the ‘government school-government school’ blame game. They should be solving the problem, but they’re scared of private school owners,” he stated.
The row over education has intensified amid the ongoing political discourse, with AAP making it a central theme of its opposition to BJP’s governance.
