Kuwait City [Kuwait], March 17 (ANI): A drone was neutralized by Kuwaiti military personnel as part of ongoing efforts to enhance security, protect vital sites, and counter potential threats, Al Jazeera reported.
A spokesperson for Kuwait’s National Guard confirmed that the aircraft was taken down by the armed forces. The operation was carried out to safeguard critical infrastructure and address possible risks within the country’s territory.
This domestic interception follows a broader regional stance taken by Kuwait. The country has strongly condemned continued Iranian strikes against the United Arab Emirates and other Gulf nations, according to a report by Gulf News.
The diplomatic response follows an incident in which a missile struck a civilian vehicle in the Al Bahya district of Abu Dhabi, resulting in one fatality and several injuries.
In a formal statement released through the Kuwait News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the attack as a “flagrant violation of international laws and norms.”
According to Gulf News, the ministry further characterized the situation as a “dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region.”
Kuwaiti officials reaffirmed their absolute rejection of any actions targeting the security of “brotherly and friendly countries,” emphasizing the urgent need to halt policies that could widen the scope of escalation or undermine regional stability.
The statement also expressed Kuwait’s full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates during this period of instability.
The ministry pledged support for all measures taken by the UAE to preserve its sovereignty, security, and stability in the face of ongoing threats. (ANI)
