New Delhi [India], May 25 (ANI): The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), the country’s premier state-owned insurer, has made history by earning a Guinness World Records title for selling the most life insurance policies in a single day.
On January 20, 2025, LIC’s massive agent network rose to an unprecedented challenge, successfully completing and issuing a staggering 588,107 life insurance policies within 24 hours. A total of 452,839 LIC agents across India contributed to this remarkable feat, which has now been officially recognized and certified by Guinness World Records.
In a statement, LIC celebrated this milestone, calling it a “powerful validation of the relentless dedication, skill, and tireless work ethics” of its agents. The organization emphasized that this achievement reflects its deep-rooted commitment to providing essential financial protection for millions of customers and their families across the nation.
The record-breaking initiative stemmed from a visionary appeal made by LIC CEO and Managing Director Siddhartha Mohanty, who encouraged every agent to complete at least one policy on what was dubbed “Mad Million Day.” The goal was to energize the entire LIC agency force for a single day of exceptional productivity — a goal that was not only met but exceeded in historic fashion.
Expressing his gratitude, Mohanty thanked insurance buyers, LIC agents, and employees for their unwavering efforts. “Mad Million Day” has now become a legendary moment in LIC’s storied history, recognized on a global stage through its entry into the Guinness World Records.
This unprecedented success cements LIC’s position as a global leader in the life insurance sector and showcases the strength and commitment of its workforce in achieving transformative results. (ANI)
