
Ballari (Karnataka) [India], April 5 (ANI): A mill worker was found dead under suspicious circumstances near the Ranithottam area in Ballari district, Karnataka, with police suspecting foul play. The deceased, who worked at the RJ Cotton Mill, was discovered naked with visible injury marks on his head, shoulder, and ear, raising concerns of a possible murder.
According to police officials, the victim’s wife, Neelaveni, had filed a missing person report on April 4 after her husband failed to return home for several days. On April 5, she received information about a body discovered in the Ranithottam area. Accompanied by relatives, she identified the deceased as her husband.
“She found the body naked with multiple injury marks on the head, shoulder, and ear,” said Ballari Superintendent of Police Shobha Rani, speaking to ANI. “Based on her complaint, we have registered a case under BNS Section 103 (murder).”
Police are currently investigating the incident to determine the motive and identity of the perpetrator(s).
In a separate incident earlier in the day, five people were killed and 10 others injured after a van collided with a parked truck near Nelogi Cross in Kalaburagi district at around 3:30 AM. All deceased were residents of the Bagalkote district. Kalaburagi SP A Srinivasulu visited the scene, and a case has been registered at the Nelogi Police Station. (ANI)
