
Moscow [Russia], July 27 (ANI/MIC Izvestia): More than 20 tourists were injured in a bus accident in the Kiginsky District of Bashkiria, according to a July 27 statement by Airat Rakhmatullin, Minister of Health of the Republic.
“As a result of the incident, more than 20 people were injured. Fifteen of them were taken to the Mesyagut Central District Hospital. Eight people were hospitalized. Two are in serious condition, and the rest are in moderate condition,” Rakhmatullin wrote on his Telegram channel.
Seven ambulance crews were dispatched to the scene. A temporary accommodation center was established in the village of Verkhniye Kigi for uninjured passengers, and a medical officer was sent to assist them.
According to the Telegram channel of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Bashkortostan, a criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements”).
The accident was reported earlier in the day. According to the regional prosecutor’s office, the bus driver lost control, veered into a ditch, and the vehicle overturned. There were 40 people on board. (ANI/MIC Izvestia)
