Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], June 11 (ANI): Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday lauded the efforts of India’s multi-party diplomatic delegations, stating they played a pivotal role in exposing Pakistan’s role in fostering terrorism.
The delegations, formed in the wake of Operation Sindoor, were part of India’s diplomatic outreach following the tragic Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 Indian tourists in Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking to reporters, Shinde said, “Yesterday, the Prime Minister appreciated all delegations which were responsible for putting forward India’s stand and exposing Pakistan before the world. The PM listened to the experiences of members of all the delegations.”
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted the members of the seven delegations at his official residence in New Delhi. The meeting was aimed at acknowledging their contributions and reviewing their global diplomatic engagements.
Comprising members of Parliament from across political parties, former ambassadors, and former senior government officials, the delegations visited over 30 countries. Their mission was to promote India’s zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism and garner international support against cross-border terror networks.
Among those who participated were notable opposition leaders such as Supriya Sule of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar), Shashi Tharoor of the Indian National Congress, and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Asaduddin Owaisi.
Shinde underscored the importance of the mission, stating that these multi-party delegations successfully conveyed India’s perspective on terrorism and national security to global stakeholders, enhancing India’s diplomatic image and influence.
The outreach initiative, known as Operation Sindoor, reflects New Delhi’s strengthened commitment to combating terrorism on an international scale and signals a united national approach in addressing threats emanating from across the border.
