
Kochi, Kerala, April 22 (ANI): Olympian Jyothi Yarraji clinched the gold medal in the women’s 100m hurdles event at the National Federation Senior Athletics Competition 2025 in Kochi on Tuesday.
Jyothi clocked 13.23 seconds, surpassing the Athletics Federation of India’s (AFI) qualification mark of 13.26 seconds for the 2025 Asian Championships.
Pragyan Prasanti Sah secured second place with a time of 13.40 seconds, followed by Nithya Ramraj in third with a time of 13.42 seconds.
In the men’s pole vault, Dev Meena claimed gold by setting a new national record with a jump of 5.35 meters. This surpassed his previous best of 5.32 meters. M Gowtham (5.15m) and Reegan G (5.10m) won silver and bronze, respectively.
On Monday, Sachin Yadav won the men’s javelin throw event with a throw of 83.86 meters, securing a spot for the competition. His throw in the fifth round, 83.67 meters, would have been enough to win as well. Yash Vir Singh took silver with 80.85 meters, and Sahil Silwal won bronze with 77.84 meters.
Kishore Jena, Asian Games silver medalist, finished fourth in the javelin competition with a 77.82-meter throw.
