NEW DELHI, February 17 — One person was killed and another injured in a fatal accident on the Ring Road flyover in Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh area, police officials said Tuesday.
The injured individual has been referred to Safdarjung Hospital, officials added.
Police said they found a scooter on the Ring Road flyover in front of Bharat Darshan Park in Punjabi Bagh. The two victims, identified as Vijay and Monu, were rushed to a hospital, where Vijay was declared brain-dead. Monu was later referred to Safdarjung Hospital.
According to police, Monu is a friend of Vijay. The two had reached Vijay’s sister’s residence in Naraina at approximately 5:30 a.m. and left about 30 minutes later. They were returning to Rohini at the time of the accident.
Police have inspected the scene and registered a First Information Report. Authorities are investigating whether another vehicle was involved in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
