Jaisalmer (Rajasthan) [India], May 12 (ANI): Security forces successfully defused a Pakistani missile that landed in an agricultural field in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, on Saturday morning, preventing any casualties or damage.
The incident occurred around 4:30 AM when the missile fell in a field owned by Puran Singh Bhati, former chairman of the Land Development Bank in Jaisalmer. Locals discovered the unexploded missile and immediately notified the authorities.
Recalling the event, Bhati said, “The farm where the missile fell yesterday belongs to me. It happened at 4:30 AM yesterday. As soon as I stepped out of my home, three explosions occurred… I sent someone to check, and the missile was found. We informed the administration, and fortunately, there was no loss of life. We are proud of our Indian armed forces and confident that PM Modi will address this situation.”
Jaisalmer Superintendent of Police (SP) Sudhir Choudhary reported that while the situation in the district is mostly stable, some areas have witnessed the discovery of ammunition and suspicious objects. He advised residents to avoid approaching such items, promptly inform the police, and refrain from sharing pictures of suspicious objects on social media.
The police have arrested four suspects in connection with the incident and are actively investigating. Additionally, SP Choudhary stated that individuals making cross-border calls are being monitored. “We have detained 12 people involved in such activities,” he said.
Indian authorities have condemned Pakistan for violating the ceasefire agreement reached earlier between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of both countries. In response, the Indian Army is taking necessary actions to counter the border intrusions. (ANI)
