
Jakarta [Indonesia], May 28 (ANI): The all-party parliamentary delegation led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha met with Indonesia’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Arief Havas Oegroseno, on Wednesday. The delegation includes Aparajita Sarangi (BJP), TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee, Brij Lala (BJP), John Brittas (CPI-M), Pradan Baruah (BJP), Hemang Joshi (BJP), Salman Khurshid, and Mohan Kumar.
Earlier the same day, the delegation met with Muhammad Husein Fadlulloh, Vice Chairperson of the Committee for Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation, and Muhammad Rofiqi, Chairperson of the Indonesia-India Parliamentary Friendship Group, to highlight India’s firm commitment against terrorism. The Indonesian representatives condemned terrorism and emphasized their belief in dialogue to resolve conflicts, describing terrorism as fundamentally against humanity.
The Indian Embassy in Indonesia posted on X that the Indonesian side conveyed strong support for India’s zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism.
The delegation also held discussions with ASEAN Secretary General Kao Kim Hourn in Jakarta. Both parties condemned terrorism in all its forms and reaffirmed their commitment to combatting terrorism to maintain regional peace and security.
Sharing a post on X, the Indian Embassy in Jakarta stated that the delegation’s visit is part of India’s diplomatic outreach linked to #OperationSindoor, reiterating India’s commitment to fighting terrorism globally and seeking understanding and support from Indonesia, a historic friend and comprehensive strategic partner.
The delegation arrived in Jakarta after concluding their visit to Singapore and is part of India’s broader global outreach to counter Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. Prior to Indonesia, the delegation has visited Japan, South Korea, and Singapore.
Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, is India’s response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians and injured many others. The operation targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the elimination of over 100 terrorists linked to groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.
