
London [UK], July 25 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi met King Charles III at the Sandringham Estate, the summer residence of the British monarch, during his official visit to the United Kingdom.
Prime Minister Modi expressed his pleasure at King Charles III’s recovery and the resumption of his royal duties. The two leaders discussed a range of topics, including health and sustainable living, with a special emphasis on the global promotion of Ayurveda and Yoga.
Thanking King Charles III for his warm hospitality, Prime Minister Modi extended a formal invitation for a state visit to India. The two also reviewed bilateral relations and emphasized that the recently signed India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) would inject new momentum into the strategic partnership between the two nations.
Prime Minister Modi also briefed the monarch on India’s advancements in renewable energy and efforts toward sustainable development. Both leaders explored avenues for collaboration on their shared vision to combat climate change and promote environmental sustainability.
The discussion also touched upon enhancing cooperation within the Commonwealth framework. As a symbolic gesture aligned with global environmental efforts, Prime Minister Modi thanked King Charles III for supporting the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ (One Tree for Mother) green initiative.
