New Delhi [India], June 9 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to meet members of the all-party delegation under the Operation Sindoor outreach on Tuesday at 7 PM at his residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg. Sources said Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju’s office has informed the delegation members about the meeting.
The delegation comprised seven groups of MPs from various political parties, including Opposition leaders like NCP-SCP’s Supriya Sule, Congress’ Shashi Tharoor, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, and former ambassadors. The diplomatic mission aimed to convey India’s zero-tolerance policy against terrorism across world capitals.
Launched after Operation Sindoor—the Indian response to the Pahalgam attack in Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed 26 tourist lives—the delegation involved over 50 participants visiting more than 30 countries.
The groups and their leaders included:
- Group 1: BJP’s Baijayant Panda (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Algeria)
- Group 2: BJP’s Ravi Shankar Prasad (UK, France, Germany, EU, Italy, Denmark)
- Group 3: JD(U) leader Sanjay Kumar Jha (Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Singapore)
- Group 4: Shiv Sena’s Shrikant Eknath Shinde (UAW, Liberia, Congo, Sierra Leone)
- Group 5: Congress’ Shashi Tharoor (US, Panama, Guyana, Brazil, Colombia)
- Group 6: DMK’s Kanimozhi Karunanidhi (Spain, Greece, Slovenia, Latvia, Russia)
- Group 7: NCP-SCP’s Supriya Sule (Egypt, Qatar, Ethiopia, South Africa)
The delegations highlighted Pakistan’s sponsorship of terrorism and urged Pakistan’s inclusion in the Financial Action Task Force’s (FATF) grey list.
Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7 in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, saw the Indian Armed Forces conduct targeted strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, killing over 100 terrorists linked to groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.
