Tel Aviv [Israel], April 10 (ANI/TPS): In a heartfelt visit ahead of Passover, Israeli President Isaac Herzog met with IDF Unit 636—part of the Combat Intelligence Collection Corps—to express gratitude and offer encouragement to the surveillance soldiers and combat troops safeguarding the nation.
President Herzog spoke intimately with the soldiers about the complexities of the current security climate, commending their courage, dedication, and service.
“There is something very profound in the concept of freedom. It is something deeply ingrained in our people,” said Herzog. “When we speak of freedom, it means we want to see our brothers and sisters home, in full freedom — and to make that happen, we must do everything we can… and stand up to every challenge.”
Addressing the significance of wearing the olive-green IDF uniform, Herzog praised the young generation for choosing service over comfort:
“You could be anywhere else in the world, and yet you chose to wear the uniform. That holds immense meaning. It represents the true essence of the IDF as the nation’s defense force: enabling us to live in security, enabling us to win this war, and to bring the hostages home.”
He concluded by extending Passover wishes to all IDF personnel:
“Go forth and succeed. I am deeply proud of you. Through you, I wish all IDF soldiers a Passover of freedom and happiness. May we hear good news for all of Israel.”
President Herzog’s visit served as both moral support and a reminder of the shared national mission, especially poignant during a holiday centered on freedom and deliverance.
