New Delhi [India], February 4 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay an official visit to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from February 7 to 8 at the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, according to an official statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs.
The visit will be Prime Minister Modi’s third to Malaysia and his first since the India-Malaysia bilateral relationship was elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in August 2024.
During the visit, Prime Minister Modi will hold bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. He will also interact with members of the Indian community, as well as industry and business representatives. The 10th India-Malaysia CEO Forum is also scheduled to take place during the visit, the statement said.
India and Malaysia share long-standing bonds of friendship rooted in historical, civilizational, and cultural connections. The relationship is further strengthened by the presence of a 2.9 million-strong Indian diaspora in Malaysia, the third largest in the world.
The Ministry of External Affairs noted that the India-Malaysia relationship is multi-faceted and continues to grow. The forthcoming visit will provide an opportunity for both leaders to review the full range of bilateral cooperation, including trade and investment, defense, security and maritime cooperation, digital and financial technology, energy, healthcare, education, culture, tourism, and people-to-people ties.
The visit is also expected to help chart the course for future engagement aimed at mutual benefit, the statement added. (ANI)
