Doha [Qatar], March 17 (ANI): Qatar’s Ministry of Interior confirmed that emergency response teams are attending to a blaze in an industrial zone triggered by falling debris following the successful neutralization of an aerial threat.
According to the ministry, Civil Defence personnel are dealing with a “limited fire” at the site, caused by shrapnel from an intercepted missile.
In a statement released on social media, the ministry said there have been no injuries reported so far.
The ground-level emergency follows a broader engagement by the nation’s defense systems. Qatar’s Ministry of Defense announced that the country was targeted in an aerial attack involving 14 Iranian ballistic missiles and several drones, Gulf News reported.
In an official update released via the Qatar News Agency, the ministry confirmed that the military response was effective, stating that the Qatari Armed Forces successfully intercepted all drones and 13 ballistic missiles launched during the attack.
According to Gulf News, while most of the threats were neutralized, one missile landed in an uninhabited area after bypassing primary defense systems. Authorities clarified that the projectile reached the ground without causing any damage or casualties.
The armed forces remain on high alert following the incident, as developments unfold amid the broader conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, now in its 18th day.
The crisis, which began on February 28, was triggered by US and Israeli strikes that reportedly resulted in the death of Iran’s former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Since the outbreak of hostilities, Iran has continued to target US bases and regional interests, demonstrating its retaliatory military capabilities. (ANI)
