Ramban (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], April 5 (ANI): In a significant step in the fight against terrorism, the Ramban Police have attached two properties under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in the Gool area of Jammu and Kashmir. The action is part of an ongoing investigation into terror-linked activities in the region.
According to officials, the attached properties include 10.18 Kanals of agricultural land, now officially recorded in the revenue documents and barred from sale or transfer under UAPA provisions.
- One property measuring 7 Kanals and 3 Marlas is registered in the name of Mohd Sharief, a resident of Dalwah Tehsil, Gool.
- The second plot, measuring 3 Kanals and 15 Marlas, is registered in the name of Mohd Younis, a resident of Hara Tehsil, Gool.
The attachment was made in relation to FIR No. 04/2024, which includes charges of criminal conspiracy and terrorism under relevant sections of the IPC and UAPA. The operation was carried out in the presence of a police team and an Executive Magistrate, ensuring legal oversight and procedural compliance.
This recent seizure adds to 23.13 Kanals of land previously attached in February 2025, bringing the total land seized in the case to 34.11 Kanals.
Ramban Police emphasized that this action marks a critical milestone in their efforts to disrupt terror networks and secure the region from subversive elements. They reaffirmed their commitment, alongside other security and intelligence agencies, to taking firm action against individuals or entities threatening national sovereignty and peace.
Meanwhile, in a related development on March 24, Awantipora Police carried out raids across multiple locations linked to members of banned separatist organisations, including Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP), and the Jammu and Kashmir People’s League. These raids were also conducted in the presence of executive magistrates and are part of the broader crackdown on terror-linked activities across the Union Territory. (ANI)
