Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], October 30 (ANI): Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), through its subsidiary Reliance Intelligence Limited, and Google on Thursday announced an expansive strategic partnership to accelerate the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across India, aiming to empower consumers, enterprises, and developers in line with Reliance’s “AI for All” vision.
The collaboration combines Reliance’s unmatched scale, connectivity, and ecosystem reach with Google’s world-class AI technology. Together, the initiatives aim to democratize AI access and strengthen the digital foundation for India’s AI-driven future, according to a company release.
Under the partnership, Google, in collaboration with Reliance Intelligence, will roll out the Google AI Pro plan with the latest version of Google Gemini to eligible Jio users free of charge for 18 months. The offer, valued at ₹35,100, includes access to the advanced Gemini 2.5 Pro model, enhanced image and video generation via Nano Banana and Veo 3.1 models, expanded access to Notebook LM for study and research, and 2 TB of cloud storage.
Eligible Jio users can activate the offer via the MyJio app. The rollout will begin with early access for users aged 18 to 25 on unlimited 5G plans, before expanding to all Jio customers nationwide. This initiative reflects Jio’s commitment to empowering India’s youth and enabling access to cutting-edge AI tools.
The partnership will also explore localized AI-powered experiences for Jio users, catering to India’s linguistic and cultural diversity.
In alignment with its goal of building multi-gigawatt, clean energy-powered sovereign compute capabilities, Reliance also announced a collaboration with Google Cloud to expand access to advanced AI hardware accelerators, including Tensor Processing Units (TPUs). This will allow organizations to train and deploy larger AI models, deliver faster inferencing, and accelerate AI adoption across India’s growing AI ecosystem.
The collaboration will strengthen India’s national AI backbone, supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making India a global AI powerhouse.
“This expanded collaboration also establishes Reliance Intelligence as a strategic go-to-market partner for Google Cloud, driving the adoption of Gemini Enterprise across Indian organizations,” the release stated. Gemini Enterprise, Google’s unified agentic AI platform, allows businesses to create, share, and deploy AI agents securely across workflows.
Reliance Intelligence will also develop and offer its own pre-built enterprise AI agents within Gemini Enterprise, expanding options for both Google-built and third-party agents.
Mukesh D. Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries Limited, said, “Reliance Intelligence aims to make intelligence services accessible to 1.45 billion Indians. Through our collaboration with strategic and long-term partners like Google, we aim to make India not just AI-enabled but AI-empowered—where every citizen and enterprise can harness intelligent tools to create, innovate, and grow.”
Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet, said, “Reliance is a longstanding partner in Google’s goal of advancing India’s digital future. Together, we’ve brought affordable internet access and smartphones to millions. Now, we are bringing this collaboration into the AI era. Today’s announcement will put Google’s cutting-edge AI tools in the hands of consumers, businesses, and India’s vibrant developer community. I’m excited for how this partnership will help expand access to AI across India.”
