Mumbai Indians (MI) secured a dominant nine-wicket victory over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in a one-sided IPL match at Wankhede Stadium. Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav starred with impressive half-centuries, guiding MI to a successful chase of 177 runs in just 15.4 overs.
Rohit set the tone early with a blistering knock, scoring 75* off 45 balls, including four fours and six sixes. Suryakumar played a stellar knock as well, finishing unbeaten on 68* off 30 balls, with six fours and five sixes. Together, they took MI home with ease, chasing down the target in less than 16 overs.
Earlier, CSK posted 176/5 with a fiery half-century from Shivam Dube (50 off 32 balls) and a late surge from Ravindra Jadeja (53* off 31 balls). Despite CSK’s efforts, MI’s chase was clinical, with the partnership between Rohit and Suryakumar proving too strong for the CSK bowlers.
MI are now in sixth position with four wins from four matches, while CSK languish at the bottom with just two wins and six losses.
