Balochistan [Pakistan], July 26 (ANI): The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for a series of coordinated armed operations across multiple regions in Balochistan, reportedly killing at least 23 Pakistani military personnel, including a senior officer, and inflicting significant damage on military infrastructure and intelligence-linked assets, The Balochistan Post reported.
According to BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch, the group carried out attacks in areas including Mastung, Kalat, Zamuran, Buleda, and Quetta, with additional operations in Nushki, Dalbandin, and Panjgur. The BLA described the offensive as part of its continued resistance against what it characterizes as “occupying” state forces.
One of the most significant clashes reportedly occurred on July 22 in the Kohak region of Kalat, where advancing Pakistani troops were ambushed. The BLA claimed three military vehicles were directly hit, and retreating soldiers were surrounded, resulting in 13 fatalities on the spot. The fighters allegedly seized weapons and launched a follow-up attack on reinforcements, causing further losses and forcing a withdrawal.
In the Talkh Kawi area of Mastung, BLA fighters allegedly used an improvised explosive device (IED) to target military personnel, killing six, including a senior officer identified as Major Ziyad, and injuring three others. Another IED attack in Mastung’s Aab Gul area reportedly killed two more and wounded four.
The BLA also claimed responsibility for the targeted killing of Muawiya Jamaldini in Nushki, described in the group’s statement as a prominent member of a state-backed armed group allegedly involved in targeted killings, home invasions, and harassment of families of slain Baloch fighters. The BLA asserted that its internal intelligence wing, Zirab, tracked Jamaldini and executed the attack as he returned home. The statement warned that other alleged members of such “death squads” were under surveillance and would face similar consequences.
Additionally, the BLA reported setting fire to two mineral transport vehicles in separate incidents—one at Ziarat Dastagir Cross in Nushki and another at Kurod Phatak in Dalbandin. The group claimed it briefly controlled the highway in Dalbandin, conducting random checks during the operation.
On July 22, BLA fighters reportedly killed a Pakistani soldier in Zamuran’s Archanan area using a remote-controlled IED. In Buleda’s Gilli area, another IED allegedly destroyed a military vehicle, killing two soldiers and injuring three.
In Quetta’s Akhtarabad area, the BLA said a unit launched a grenade attack on a military outpost. Meanwhile, in Panjgur’s Pulabad area, the group claimed it destroyed surveillance equipment, including cameras and towers used by Pakistani forces.
The BLA concluded its statement by reiterating its commitment to armed resistance, vowing to escalate operations in response to ongoing military activities and to continue its campaign for what it terms Baloch national liberation.
