Nagpur (Maharashtra) [India], April 30 (ANI): Defence expert Shiwalee Deshpande labeled Pakistan as a “rogue nation” and “terror nation,” accusing the country of not only training terrorists to infiltrate India but also deploying regular army officers to carry out attacks. Deshpande’s comments come in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack and mounting concerns over Pakistan’s involvement in fostering terrorism.
Speaking to ANI, Shiwalee Deshpande stated, “Now, since Pakistan has openly acknowledged that it trains terrorists and provides them with funds and ammunition, it has become evident to the world that Pakistan is a rogue nation and a terror nation.”
The defence expert further emphasized the gravity of the situation, particularly with the involvement of Pakistani ex-Intelligence Service (ISI) officers and former Pakistani military personnel in the attack. “This proves that Pakistan is not only training terrorists and sending them into our country to carry out terror activities, but it is also sending its regular army officers to India. Naturally, India will take a strong step. Enough is enough, and this time the response will be substantial,” she said.
Deshpande also referred to the high-level meeting held on April 29, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where India’s stance against terrorism was reaffirmed. The meeting, which included Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Anil Chauhan, and the heads of the three armed services, emphasized that the Indian Armed Forces have been granted “complete operational freedom” to respond to the terror attack in Pahalgam.
“The Prime Minister made it clear in a ninety-minute meeting that the Indian defence forces have a free hand to take action whenever necessary. The response will come at a time and place of our choosing, and this time it will be impactful,” Deshpande explained.
The meeting with the Cabinet Committee on Security, held after the April 23 session, was convened in the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack, which resulted in the deaths of 26 people. Government sources revealed that Prime Minister Modi expressed unwavering confidence in the Indian Armed Forces’ capabilities, affirming that India is resolute in delivering a decisive blow to terrorism.
“PM Modi assured that the Indian Armed Forces have the complete autonomy to determine the mode, targets, and timing of the response. The nation is prepared for a significant action,” the sources added.
