
Kulgam (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], April 26 (ANI):
In a coordinated operation, Kulgam Police, along with the Indian Army and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), arrested two terrorist associates and recovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
According to an official release, the arrests were made during a routine checkpoint established at Matalhama Chowk, Thokerpora, Qaimoh.
The two individuals intercepted and subsequently taken into custody have been identified as Bilal Ahmad Bhat, son of Abdul Salam Bhat, and Mohd Ismail Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, both residents of Thokerpora, Qaimoh.
Upon conducting a search, security forces recovered two pistols, two pistol magazines, and 25 rounds of pistol ammunition from their possession.
A case has been registered under the relevant sections of law at Police Station Qaimoh, and an investigation is currently underway to uncover further details.
In a related development, the house of a suspect linked to the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack — which resulted in the deaths of 26 people and left many injured — was demolished by security forces and Jammu and Kashmir authorities on Saturday.
Officials identified the suspect as Zakir Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Mutalhama village in Kulgam district. Ganie is believed to have been involved in the Pahalgam terror attack, an incident that has sent shockwaves across the country.
Authorities stated that Ganie had been active since 2023. (ANI)
