Shanghai [China], June 28 (ANI): Celebrating the rich traditions of India’s holistic healthcare systems, the Consulate General of India in Shanghai hosted a special event titled “The India Way Experience” spotlighting Ayurveda, Yoga, meditation, and traditional wellness innovations. The event, held as part of the International Day of Yoga 2025 (IDY2025) observance, drew attention to India’s global leadership in sustainable health practices.
In a post on social media platform X, India in Shanghai described the gathering as “a special event celebrating Ayurveda, Yoga, Meditation & India’s unparalleled holistic healing heritage and innovations.” The event was designed to not only promote India’s booming traditional healthcare economy but also strengthen Diaspora connections and the vision of One Earth, One Health.
The Consulate emphasised that “The India Way Experience with a Diaspora Connect for One Health” reflects India’s global commitment to inclusive, sustainable wellness, rooted in time-tested systems and practices. The initiative comes at a time when global attention is increasingly focused on preventive health, natural therapies, and integrated wellness systems.
The event in Shanghai was one of several engagements highlighting India-China bilateral cooperation this week. Notably, Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met with his Chinese counterpart, Admiral Dong Jun, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Defence Ministers’ Meeting in Qingdao. The two held in-depth discussions on border management and permanent resolution of longstanding boundary issues.
Singh emphasised the need to restore peace and stability along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), calling for structured de-escalation and revitalisation of existing mechanisms. He stressed the importance of bridging the trust deficit that followed the 2020 border standoff and expressed appreciation for the resumption of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra after nearly six years.
According to the Ministry of Defence, both ministers agreed to continue dialogue at multiple levels, focusing on disengagement, de-escalation, and future delimitation of the border. Singh also briefed Admiral Dong on recent terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir and India’s Operation Sindoor, which targets cross-border terror infrastructure.
As a gesture of goodwill, Singh gifted a traditional Madhubani painting to Admiral Dong. The artwork, originating from Bihar’s Mithila region, is renowned for its intricate linework, tribal motifs, and vibrant colors. The exchange underscored the cultural diplomacy that complements bilateral strategic conversations.
Together, the cultural outreach and diplomatic engagements reflect India’s dual focus on soft power and strategic dialogue, reinforcing the message that wellness, heritage, and security are integral to India’s global narrative. (ANI)
