
Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) [India], April 2 (ANI): The 4th edition of the bilateral Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) amphibious exercise between India and the US, Tiger TRIUMPH 2025, commenced in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday.
Tiger Triumph – Objective and Participants
The exercise aims to enhance joint response capabilities, foster expertise exchange, and improve operational readiness in the Indian Ocean Region. Key participants include:
- Indian Army: Amphibious Warriors
- Indian Navy: Various ships and aircraft
- US Army: 1-5 IN “Bobcats” and Arctic Wolves
- US Marines: 1st Battalion
Opening Ceremony & Strategic Importance
The opening ceremony was held aboard the Indian Navy’s INS Jalashwa (L41) on April 1. The joint statement emphasized that the exercise strengthens the growing US-India strategic maritime partnership, focusing on interoperability and joint all-domain operations for large-scale HADR missions.
Harbour Phase (April 1-7)
This phase includes:
- Training and Planning: Execution of training events at sea and refinement of previous procedures
- Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE): Covering special operations, emergency medical response, and operations in air, maritime, cyber, and space domains
- Cultural and Sports Engagements: Strengthening personal bonds between personnel
Sea Phase (April 8-12)
During this phase, both forces will conduct maritime, amphibious, and HADR operations, concluding with an amphibious landing at Kakinada to establish a joint humanitarian relief and medical response camp.
