New Delhi [India], August 5 (ANI): Delhi Police have arrested two individuals in connection with the murder of a transgender person, whose body was discovered with a slit throat in the Madhu Vihar area on Monday. Officials said a PCR call was received reporting the stabbing incident on Monday afternoon. Upon arrival, police found the victim lying in a pool of blood.
The deceased was identified as Karan, also known as Annu, a resident of Khichripur who was living in Village Chilla at the time of the incident.
During questioning, investigators revealed that Rehan, also known as Ikka (19), a resident of Ghazipur Village, had been in a live-in relationship with Karan for the past four months. According to police, disputes began to surface when Rehan allegedly started extorting money from Karan. As Karan attempted to distance herself from the relationship, Rehan reportedly became possessive and felt betrayed.
In a fit of rage, Rehan allegedly conspired with his associate, Md Sarver (20), a resident of Rajeev Colony, Ghaziabad, to murder the victim.
Following the crime, police launched an extensive manhunt across the Trans-Yamuna area, Ghaziabad, and Meerut. Based on specific intelligence, a police team proceeded to the Laxmi Nagar Metro Station area around midnight. Surveillance was conducted near the station’s parking zone and under the Shakarpur flyover, near Kishan Kunj and the SDM Office.
At approximately 12:45 AM, two suspects matching the descriptions provided were seen loitering under the flyover, appearing to wait for someone. After confirmation from an informer, the police apprehended both individuals around 1:00 AM.
During interrogation, both suspects reportedly confessed to murdering Karan earlier that day. Authorities stated that further investigation into the case is underway. (ANI)
