
Abu Dhabi [UAE], April 13 (ANI/WAM): UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reaffirmed the Emirates’ support for Syria’s pursuit of peace and stability during talks with Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa on Sunday. The meeting, held at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, focused on strengthening fraternal relations and enhancing cooperation between the two nations.
Welcoming the visiting Syrian President, Sheikh Mohamed wished him success in leading Syria through a period of transition, emphasizing the UAE’s hope that Syria will achieve lasting security, development, and national unity.
The leaders exchanged views on regional and global developments, particularly the current situation in Syria. Sheikh Mohamed reiterated the UAE’s commitment to supporting Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, stressing that stability in Syria is vital to the security of the wider region.
He also expressed the UAE’s readiness to offer all necessary support to help the Syrian people rebuild their country and realize their aspirations for a stable and prosperous future.
President Al-Sharaa, who arrived earlier at Al Bateen Airport, was welcomed by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, alongside senior Emirati officials.
The high-level meeting was attended by a broad delegation of UAE leaders, including Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, among others. Members of President Al-Sharaa’s delegation, including Asaad Al-Shibani, also participated in the talks.
The visit reflects growing diplomatic engagement between Syria and the UAE, amid ongoing efforts to normalize relations and support post-conflict reconstruction in the region. (ANI/WAM)
