
Washington DC [US], April 19 (ANI/ WAM): The UAE-US Business Council, US Chamber of Commerce, and UAE Embassy, in coordination with Trends Research and Advisory, hosted a luncheon in Washington, DC, with Dr Mohammed Al-Kuwaiti, Chairman of the UAE Cybersecurity Council. During the session, Dr Al-Kuwaiti provided an overview of the cybersecurity landscape amid rapid technological changes and discussed preparations for the upcoming GISEC Global conference in Dubai (May 6–9).
The event gathered prominent figures such as Khush Choksy (SVP, US Chamber of Commerce), Steve Lutes (VP, Middle East Affairs, US Chamber), and Dr Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali (CEO, TRENDS Research and Advisory), alongside experts and media professionals.
Discussions focused on the UAE’s proactive digital strategy, investments in emerging technologies, and its leadership’s vision for global digital transformation. Dr Al-Kuwaiti emphasized that international cooperation is essential to tackle cyber threats, particularly those linked to AI. He highlighted the importance of partnerships in boosting cybersecurity, fostering business environments, and connecting research institutions in the UAE and US.
Participants stressed the need for public-private collaboration, praising the UAE’s cybersecurity leadership as a global model. Dr Al-Ali called for deeper ties with academic and research communities to enhance global scientific dialogue.
The visit aimed to bolster UAE-US cybersecurity collaboration, exploring how technology can drive sustainable growth, digital infrastructure, and economic progress. Officials from both sides underscored the critical role of research centres in shaping digital policies and raising cyber awareness.
