New Delhi [India], June 11 (ANI): Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth met with the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Mount Everest Expedition Team on Wednesday in New Delhi, following their successful ascent of Mount Everest on May 18, 2025.
During the interaction, the cadets recounted their experiences on the expedition, sharing insights into the intensive planning, rigorous training, and formidable challenges they overcame during the climb. Minister Seth commended the cadets for their determination, discipline, and remarkable teamwork in achieving this exceptional milestone.
This marks the third successful Everest expedition by the NCC, with previous summits completed in 2013 and 2016. The 2025 team comprised ten cadets—five boys and five girls—with an average age of just 19 years. Remarkably, many were first-time climbers. The cadets were supported by a dedicated team of officers, junior commissioned officers (JCOs), instructors, and non-commissioned officers (NCOs), ensuring a well-coordinated and professionally executed mission.
The expedition was flagged off by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on April 3, 2025, from New Delhi.
