Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], September 18 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak on Wednesday accused Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav of presenting “misleading and fictional things” during a press briefing on law and order, land mafia, and development under the BJP government.
Speaking to ANI, Pathak challenged Yadav’s allegations about land mafia activities, stating, “SP chief Akhilesh Yadav presented several misleading and fictional things before the people today. He mentioned land mafia. Is it not true that during SP’s rule, land was encroached on under the protection of the government? The land of ordinary farmers and ordinary people was encroached on by goons, under the protection of the SP.”
He highlighted the BJP government’s efforts to restore properties worth over Rs 20,000 crore from the land mafia, asserting that it brought justice to farmers and the public. Pathak also accused SP ministers and MLAs of encroaching on and looting government properties during their tenure.
On law and order, the Deputy CM said, “Ever since the BJP came to power under CM Yogi Adityanath, goons and mafia have left UP… Today, women are safe in the state. There is a rule of the country in the state today.” He further criticised Yadav for allegedly suppressing democratic practices in the past, citing incidents of bogus voting and restrictions on nominations in 2012.
Regarding development, Pathak rejected Yadav’s claims, noting, “Your development work was limited to a few districts… Today, under the BJP government, 20 lakh youth have been given mobile and tablet phones.” He asserted that the current administration has ensured development across all districts of Uttar Pradesh, while prioritising law and order, youth empowerment, and women’s safety.
