Surat (Gujarat) [India], July 27: Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer VinFast marked a significant milestone in its India journey by inaugurating its first showroom in the country, located in Surat, Gujarat. The launch precedes the upcoming inauguration of VinFast’s manufacturing facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu.
The Surat showroom, named ‘VinFast Surat,’ is promoted by Chandan Car, a renowned name in India’s automotive retail industry. This state-of-the-art facility spans 3,000 square feet in Piplod and serves as a comprehensive hub for prospective buyers, offering immersive product experiences, vehicle purchase support, and after-sales services.
VinFast’s premium electric SUV models, the VF 6 and VF 7, will be featured at the showroom. Notably, India is the first market where VinFast is launching the right-hand drive versions of these vehicles, highlighting its commitment to local market preferences.
“This first showroom in Gujarat symbolizes our deep commitment to India,” said Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of VinFast Asia. “With this dealership, we’re not just introducing electric vehicles — we’re delivering a complete, customer-first ownership experience built on quality, trust, and service excellence.”
The company has ambitious expansion plans, aiming to launch 35 dealerships across more than 27 cities by the end of the year. Pre-bookings for the VF 6 and VF 7 began on July 15, 2025, with a fully refundable booking amount of Rs 21,000. Customers can book either at showrooms or through the official website, VinFastAuto.in.
Vehicles will be locally assembled at VinFast’s forthcoming plant in Tamil Nadu, reinforcing the brand’s long-term strategic investment in India as a key market and manufacturing hub.
To build a robust EV ecosystem, VinFast has partnered with RoadGrid, myTVS, and Global Assure to establish a nationwide network for charging and after-sales services. In alignment with its sustainability goals, the company has also joined hands with BatX Energies, an Indian clean-tech firm, to promote battery recycling and develop a circular battery value chain.
VinFast, a Nasdaq-listed subsidiary of Vingroup JSC, one of Vietnam’s largest conglomerates, manufactures a range of electric vehicles, including SUVs, e-scooters, and e-buses. As part of its global growth strategy, the company is rapidly expanding its distribution and manufacturing footprint across North America, Europe, and Asia.
