Washington, D.C. [US], April 11 (ANI): US President Donald Trump on Saturday highlighted the United States’ energy strength, asserting that the country possesses petroleum reserves exceeding those of the next two largest oil-producing nations combined.
In a statement shared on Truth Social, Trump claimed that a significant fleet of vessels is currently en route to American shores to procure what he described as the highest quality and “sweetest” oil available.
“Massive numbers of completely empty oil tankers, some of the largest anywhere in the world, are heading right now to the United States to load up with the best and ‘sweetest’ oil (and gas) anywhere in the world,” Trump stated.
The President further emphasized the scale of domestic resources, adding, “We have more oil than the next two largest oil economies combined—and higher quality. We are waiting for you. Quick turnaround!”
These remarks come at a pivotal diplomatic moment in South Asia, as high-level delegations from both the United States and Iran arrived in Islamabad on Saturday for critical peace talks.
The Pakistani capital has become the center of high-stakes negotiations, with the Serena Hotel serving as the focal point of diplomatic activity. Visuals from the venue showed tight security and heightened movement as international delegations convened.
The arrival of these delegations follows what Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has described as “make or break” negotiations. Held under intense security, the summit aims to stabilize a fragile ceasefire and address the future of regional security.
On Saturday morning, the Iranian delegation departed its residence for the Prime Minister’s Office to begin formal discussions, following a week of global anticipation after the ceasefire announcement on April 8.
Confirming the development, the Consulate General of Iran in Mumbai said in a post on X that the delegation was en route to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The broader stakes were underscored by Iranian Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref, who indicated that the outcome depends on the American approach. In a post on X, he suggested that a mutually beneficial agreement is possible but warned of continued tensions if talks fail.
The significance of the talks is reflected in the composition of the US delegation, which includes Vice President JD Vance, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner.
The Iranian team, led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, arrived under heightened security. According to reports, the aircraft was escorted into Pakistani airspace by AWACS aircraft, electronic warfare systems, and fighter jets.
With Iran’s Supreme National Security Council limiting the discussion window to 15 days, the coming days are expected to determine whether the ceasefire leads to a lasting resolution or renewed conflict. (ANI)
