Washington, DC [US], June 17 (ANI): Former US President Donald Trump declared on Tuesday that the United States now has “complete and total control” over Iranian airspace and claimed to know the precise location of Iran’s Supreme Leader. The comments, made on Trump’s social media platform Truth Social, come amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran.
“We now have complete and total control of the skies over Iran,” Trump wrote. “Iran had good sky trackers and other defensive equipment, and plenty of it, but it doesn’t compare to American-made, conceived, and manufactured ‘stuff.’ Nobody does it better than the good ol’ USA.”
In the same post, Trump stated, “We know exactly where the so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ is hiding. He is an easy target, but is safe there – We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now. But we don’t want missiles shot at civilians or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin.”
Trump’s comments come as hostilities have intensified between Israel and Iran, with Israel conducting targeted airstrikes on Iranian military and nuclear facilities, prompting retaliatory attacks from Tehran. The former president has repeatedly voiced strong support for Israel and emphasized a hardline stance on Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
Earlier, while speaking aboard Air Force One, Trump pushed for a definitive resolution to the conflict, rejecting the idea of a temporary truce. “An end, a real end, not a ceasefire. An end. Or giving entirely. That’s OK, too,” he said, hinting at the potential collapse of diplomatic negotiations.
Reiterating his long-standing position, Trump said, “Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. It’s very simple – you don’t have to go too deep into it. They just can’t have a nuclear weapon.”
He suggested that more clarity would emerge in the next 48 hours regarding whether Israel intends to escalate or pause its military operations. “You’re going to find out. Nobody’s slowed up so far,” Trump told CNN.
According to reports, Trump is expected to convene a meeting with his national security team in the Situation Room on Tuesday to assess the situation. “I hope their [Iran’s] program is going to be wiped out long before that. They’re not going to have a nuclear weapon,” he said.
Trump left the G7 Summit in Kananaskis, Canada, earlier than scheduled following Monday night’s dinner with world leaders, citing the need to return to Washington to address the escalating Middle East conflict.
“I have to be back,” he said during a ceremonial photo-op at the summit. “You probably see what I see. And I have to be back as soon as I can.” (ANI)
