Tel Aviv [Israel], June 15 (ANI/TPS): In a striking escalation of tensions, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued a direct warning to Iranian civilians on Sunday, urging them to evacuate areas near military weapons production facilities, citing imminent danger to their lives. The IDF delivered the message through its newly launched Farsi-language social media account, marking its first public communication to the Iranian populace in their native language.
The move is part of what Israeli security sources described as a pre-approved strategy aimed at pressuring the Iranian regime while minimizing civilian casualties.
“Defence Minister Yisrael Katz’s directive to evacuate residents in Tehran is part of a pre-approved plan to exert pressure on the regime by evacuating the population—in response to the shooting on the Israeli home front,” a security source told TPS-IL.
In the Farsi-language message, the IDF warned:
“All persons who are currently or in the near future present in or around military weapons production factories and their support institutions should immediately leave these areas and not return until further notice.”
The tweet continued,
“Your presence next to this infrastructure puts your life at risk.”
Defense Minister Yisrael Katz issued a pointed statement following the warning, saying,
“The IDF will attack the sites and continue to peel the skin of the Iranian snake in Tehran and everywhere else—from nuclear capabilities to weapons systems. The Iranian dictator is turning Tehran into Beirut and the residents of Tehran into hostages for the survival of his regime.”
The warnings and heightened rhetoric come just days after Israel launched preemptive strikes against Iranian nuclear infrastructure, claiming Tehran had crossed a critical threshold in its pursuit of nuclear weapons.
According to Israeli defense officials, Iran has amassed enough fissile material to potentially produce up to 15 nuclear weapons and has rapidly developed the capability to enrich uranium to weapons-grade levels. Intelligence reports also suggest that Iran is accelerating efforts to assemble a complete nuclear device, prompting Israeli officials to label the situation as reaching “a point of no return.”
The preemptive Israeli strikes mark a significant escalation in a broader conflict that includes Iran’s nuclear development, long-range missile proliferation, and support for proxy militant groups across the Middle East—all elements of what Israel describes as a strategy aimed at its destruction.
The unfolding situation has raised alarm across the region and within the international community, with the potential for further military confrontation remaining high. (ANI/TPS)
