Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) [India], April 14 (ANI): Abdul Majid Hakeem Ilahi, Representative of Iran’s Supreme Leader in India, lauded India for its support. Ilahi held a conversation with ANI on the sidelines of the Yad-E-Shohada Programme organized at Imambara Jawahar Ali Khan, with participation from the Shia community.
He said, “I’m very thankful to all my dear brothers and sisters in India. I am affected by their emotions and their feelings. I never expected such emotions and support toward oppressed people, justice, humanity, and dignity. Wherever you go in India, you will find kindness, honesty, dignity, humanity, and loyalty among the people. I can say I cannot find such emotions and virtues in any other nation. I am thankful to all of them.”
Ilahi said that India and Iran have long been bound by civilizational ties and that their relationship remains strong.
“Yes, the relationship between Iran and India is very good. As you know, the relationship and friendship between Iran and India are rooted in more than 5,000 years of civilization, culture, education, humanity, and economic ties. At present, the relationship between Iran and India is very strong,” he said.
Ilahi further said that leaders of India and Iran have had successful conversations.
“As you know, the Prime Minister of India has spoken with the President of Iran several times. These were very successful conversations between both sides. Also, the Minister of External Affairs of India has had several successful discussions with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran. The relationship is very good, and we hope it will grow stronger and expand into more areas,” he said.
This diplomatic backdrop coincides with significant maritime developments, as the Indian-flagged liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tanker Jag Vikram became the ninth Indian vessel to navigate the conflict-ridden Strait. Currently being escorted toward Indian shores, the vessel is scheduled to arrive at an Indian port on Tuesday, marking the first successful passage of an Indian ship through the strategic waterway following a temporary ceasefire between the United States and Iran.
