New Delhi [India], August 4 (ANI): External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar on Monday urged all Indians—both within the country and abroad—to actively take part in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign as India prepares to celebrate its 79th Independence Day on August 15.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Jaishankar emphasized the symbolic importance of the initiative, highlighting the campaign as a reflection of India’s unity, strength, and collective aspirations.
“India is a symbol of India’s unity, strength and our collective aspirations. The #HarGharTiranga campaign captures the pride and enthusiasm of the people of Bharat in our motherland. Urge all Indians at home and abroad to celebrate the tricolour by hoisting it in our homes and uploading a selfie with [it] on http://harghartiranga.com,” he wrote.
According to the Ministry of Culture, this year’s campaign will run from August 2 to August 15. Citizens are encouraged to hoist the national flag at their homes and share photographs to show their participation.
In addition to promoting national pride, the Ministry of Culture announced that this year’s campaign will also emphasize cleanliness.
“This time, along with the tricolour, a resolve for cleanliness—The message of ‘Cleanliness is Service’ will be spread to every individual,” the Ministry stated in a post on X.
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is organizing a nationwide Tiranga Yatra (Tricolour March) across all mandals (local units) from August 10 to August 14. The initiative aims to foster patriotism and highlight the achievements of Operation Sindoor, according to party sources.
The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign is part of the broader ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ initiative, launched in 2021 to commemorate India’s 75th year of independence. The campaign seeks to encourage citizens to honor the national flag and celebrate the spirit of freedom by bringing the tricolour into their homes.
The initiative continues to serve as a unifying movement, celebrating the democratic spirit and diversity of the Indian nation. (ANI)
