
Al Arish [Egypt], August 5 (ANI/WAM): The eighth UAE aid ship, Khalifa, arrived at Al Arish Port in Egypt on Tuesday as part of “Operation Chivalrous Knight 3,” in preparation for delivering humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip. The arrival continues the UAE’s ongoing humanitarian support for the Palestinian people amid worsening conditions in the region.
The ship was received by a delegation of representatives from humanitarian and charitable organizations, along with Ahmed Sari Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), and Egyptian officials.
Departing from Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi, the Khalifa carried 7,166 tonnes of humanitarian aid, including food, medicines, medical supplies, relief items, dates, and shelter materials. The shipment consists of 4,372 tonnes of food, 1,433 tonnes of shelter supplies, 860 tonnes of medical materials, and 501 tonnes of health-related items.
With this latest delivery, the total amount of aid sent by the UAE to the Gaza Strip has now surpassed 80,000 tonnes.
The UAE continues to dispatch urgent humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians and to support stability in the region. This mission reaffirms the UAE’s enduring commitment to humanitarian principles and its efforts to reduce the impact of ongoing crises. (ANI/WAM)
