Bandar Abbas, Iran — January 31 (ANI): An explosion ripped through a residential building in the Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas, killing a minor girl and damaging an eight-story structure along with several nearby homes, according to Fars News Agency.
Citing provincial crisis management officials, Fars reported that emergency and operational teams were rushed to the site immediately after the blast. The injured were transported to nearby medical centers for treatment.
Authorities said the cause of the explosion was not immediately known.
CNN reported that a U.S. official told the network the explosion was not related to any U.S. military action. An Israeli official also said Israel was not involved.
The blast comes amid heightened regional tensions after U.S. President Donald Trump hinted at a possible military action against Iran.
