New Delhi [India], October 21 (ANI): A 72-year-old man was allegedly shot by his grandsons on Tuesday morning in the Turkman Gate area over a prolonged property dispute, police said. The incident was reported at Chandni Mahal police station.
The victim, identified as Shahbuddin, sustained a gunshot wound and was rushed to LNJP Hospital, where he is reported to be stable. Preliminary investigations indicate that Shahbuddin, along with his son and grandsons, had been embroiled in a long-standing disagreement over property. A case of attempt to murder has been registered, and police are working to trace the accused.
In a separate violent incident, a man was stabbed to death outside his residence in Shahbad Dairy during an altercation related to bursting crackers. The victim, Sitamber Prasad alias Dileep, son of Sikander Singh, was found with a stab injury to the right side of his chest around 12:22 AM on October 21. The confrontation reportedly followed an earlier argument between the victim’s family members and the accused over verbal abuses while bursting crackers. Based on the statement of Deepak Prasad, police registered an FIR under sections 103(1)/3(5) BNS (punishment for murder) and initiated a detailed investigation.
Through witness statements, CCTV footage, and technical surveillance, police apprehended three of the accused: Dheeraj (24) and Akash alias Baba (24), both residents of Shahbad Dairy, and Tarun (22) from Inderprasth Colony, Ashok Vihar.
