Sanaa [Yemen], April 20 (ANI): The United States carried out 13 air strikes on Hodeidah’s port and airport, days after targeting the Ras Isa oil terminal, Houthi-affiliated Al Masirah TV reported.
At least three people were killed and four others were injured in strikes on the al‑Thawra, Bani Matar, and al‑Safiah districts of the capital, Sanaa, CNN quoted Al Masirah as saying.
This follows U.S. air raids on Yemen’s Ras Isa oil port on Thursday, which the Houthi Health Ministry spokesman, Anees Alasbah, said killed at least 74 people and wounded 171 others.
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed the operations were intended to cut off the Houthis’ fuel and revenue sources. In a Thursday social media post, CENTCOM stated, “Today, U.S. forces took action to eliminate this source of fuel for the Iran‑backed Houthi terrorists. The objective of these strikes was to degrade the economic source of power of the Houthis.”
Meanwhile, Yemen’s Houthi rebels vowed to continue military operations against Israel and the United States. “Yemen will not back down from continuing its support operations for the Palestinian people until the Israeli aggression on Gaza stops and the siege is lifted,” their armed forces said in a statement reported by CNN.
President Donald Trump has pledged to use “overwhelming force” until the U.S. succeeds in preventing Houthi attacks on shipping routes in the Red Sea.
