New Delhi [India], October 1 (ANI): India will host the Conclave of Army Chiefs of United Nations Troop Contributing Countries (UN TCCs) in Delhi from October 14 to 16, bringing together senior military leadership from nearly 30 nations contributing troops to UN peacekeeping missions.

Addressing the curtain-raiser on October 1, Lt Gen Rakesh Kapoor, AVSM, VSM, DCOAS (IS&T), extended a warm welcome on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff. He described the conclave as a “unique platform” for sharing the collective experience, wisdom, and commitment of militaries worldwide in advancing the shared responsibility of peace under the UN Charter.

India’s peacekeeping contributions, rooted in its cultural values and ethical foreign policy, span over 75 years. The country has deployed more than 290,000 peacekeepers across 50 UN missions, with 182 sacrificing their lives. India was the first nation to send an All Women Police Contingent to Liberia in 2007 and continues to support female engagement in conflict zones.

The event will feature plenary sessions on capacity building, resource mobilisation, and technology in UN peacekeeping, while showcasing India’s ‘Atmanirbhar’ initiatives and technological solutions. Delegates will also pay homage at the National War Memorial.

This conclave aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 5-S vision — Samman (Respect), Samvad (Dialogue), Sahyog (Cooperation), Shanti (Peace), and Samriddhi (Prosperity) — and supports India’s vision for a New Orientation for a Reformed Multilateral System (NORMS).

The conclave is expected to strengthen dialogue, promote solidarity, enhance safety for peacekeepers, and explore innovative approaches for peacekeeping missions worldwide. Defence leadership emphasised it as more than a military meeting — but a reaffirmation of global commitment to peace, harmony, and security.

India expressed pride in hosting the gathering and anticipates three days of productive deliberations, cultural exchanges, and renewed dedication to the cause of peace.
