Rahul’s unbeaten 112 off 65 balls included 14 fours and four sixes, with a strike rate of 172.31. This innings marked his fifth IPL century and seventh overall in T20 cricket. He now ties with Abhishek Sharma for the joint-fifth highest number of T20 centuries. Virat Kohli holds the record for the most IPL centuries with eight, while Chris Gayle tops the overall T20 list with 22 tons.
In the current IPL 2025 season, KL Rahul is DC’s highest run-scorer and ranks seventh overall with 493 runs in 11 matches at an average of 61.62 and a strike rate of over 148. He has scored one century and three fifties, with his best score being 112*. Across 237 matches and 224 innings, Rahul has amassed 8,081 runs at an average of 42.53, including seven centuries and 68 fifties, with a top score of 132*. He reached the 8,000-run milestone in 224 innings, making him the fastest Indian to achieve it, ahead of Virat Kohli (243 innings). Globally, he is the third fastest after Chris Gayle (213 innings) and Babar Azam (218 innings).
During the match, Gujarat Titans won the toss and opted to bowl first. After DC lost Faf Du Plessis early, a 90-run partnership between KL Rahul and Abishek Porel (30 off 19 balls) stabilized the innings.
