Shiga [Japan], July 26 (ANI): In an effort to promote regional revitalization, Shiga Prefecture is deepening its overseas partnerships, with Hiyoshi Ecological Services playing a key role in advancing this initiative. Japanese prefectures, including Shiga, are increasingly looking toward countries in Asia, particularly India, to build stronger international connections that support sustainable development.
Governor Taizo Mikazuki of Shiga Prefecture is at the forefront of this global outreach. “Shiga Prefecture is home to the largest lake in Japan and one of the world’s oldest lakes. It has enriched lives by preserving water resources and the natural environment while promoting economic growth. We hope to expand and share this model of a sustainable society,” Governor Mikazuki said.
As part of his ongoing efforts, Governor Mikazuki recently visited Hiyoshi Ecological Services to learn more about the company’s contributions. Guided by the philosophy that “there are no borders when it comes to environmental issues,” Hiyoshi provides a range of laboratory services, including water quality analysis, dioxin and asbestos testing, food safety analysis, and the detection of harmful elements. These labs form the core of Hiyoshi’s environmental service initiatives.
A key highlight of the governor’s visit was meeting with Indian postgraduate students currently undergoing internships at Hiyoshi. Since 1988, the company has hosted over 1,000 foreign interns and trainees.
“I have gained immense knowledge and experienced a lot,” said Torel Samyuktha S, an intern from India. Fellow trainee Sundhar G added, “We even analyzed food samples we brought from India. It’s been a great opportunity to learn new technologies.”
Tadashi Suzuki of Hiyoshi commented, “Japan once faced serious issues with public pollution and sanitation. Anticipating these would become global challenges, our company developed solutions we now share worldwide. This knowledge exchange also supports our business development.”
Governor Mikazuki emphasized the importance of these international ties: “Hiyoshi has built strong mutual exchanges of engineers between India, ASEAN countries, and China. We aim to expand these global connections as much as possible to fulfill our responsibilities.”
Through collaboration with Hiyoshi’s expansive global network of alumni, Shiga Prefecture is strengthening international relations, fostering innovation, and promoting sustainable growth.
