New Delhi [India], April 5 (ANI): In a significant step toward modern warfare preparedness, the Indian Army’s Trishakti Corps has successfully validated the Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T) capability during Exercise SARVSHAKTI, reinforcing its commitment to future-ready force structuring and multi-domain operations (MDO).
According to a statement by the Defence PRO, the exercise showcased seamless collaboration between manned platforms and unmanned systems on the battlefield, demonstrating the Indian Army’s ability to operationalise advanced technology such as drones, autonomous vehicles, and AI-enabled platforms.
“The battlefield of tomorrow demands adaptability, speed, and seamless integration of man and machine. Exercise SARVSHAKTI is a proud milestone in that journey,” said Lt Gen Zubin A Minwalla, General Officer Commanding, Trishakti Corps.
🔹 Highlights from Exercise SARVSHAKTI:
- Validation of MUM-T: Enabled live synergy between soldiers and unmanned aerial systems for real-time reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition (RSTA)
- Enhanced situational awareness: Tactical commanders gained a better operational picture through integrated data from manned and unmanned assets
- Faster decision-making: Use of AI and autonomous systems reduced reaction times and improved battlefield responsiveness
- Demonstrated MDO readiness: Exercise emphasized interoperability across multiple domains including land, air, and cyber
This achievement underscores a larger shift in the Indian Army’s doctrine toward tech-enabled warfare and hybrid battlefield dominance.
🔸 FPV Drone Breakthrough by Fleur-De-Lis Brigade
In another major milestone, the Fleur-De-Lis Brigade recently tested a First Person View (FPV) drone armed with a kamikaze-role anti-tank munition, in collaboration with DRDO’s Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL) in Pathankot, Punjab.
This drone is India’s first indigenously developed impact-based kamikaze FPV system, enabling precise targeting of armored threats with low-cost and agile UAV platforms.
📌 Implications:
These developments position the Indian Army at the forefront of military innovation in South Asia, combining indigenous R&D with battlefield adaptability. MUM-T and kamikaze drones are expected to enhance force multipliers, reduce casualties, and transform tactical engagements in the near future.
