New Delhi [India], May 11 (ANI): Violations of the ceasefire agreement will have “consequences” as Operation Sindoor remains ongoing, sources warned Pakistan, a day after both nations agreed to cease hostilities.
“Despite agreeing to the cessation of hostilities on May 10, they sent drones and missiles. They should know that violations will have consequences. Operation Sindoor is still on,” sources said, emphasizing that India remains resolute in its stance.
According to the sources, the successful execution of Operation Sindoor has sent a clear message to terrorists and their backers that no place in Pakistan is safe for them. “We have sent a message to terrorists and their benefactors that no place in Pakistan is safe for them. They can’t train and launch from one place and then go and live in a four-storeyed bungalow in another place and think they are safe. We will come for them,” the sources stated.
Operation Sindoor was launched in the early hours of May 7 by the Indian Armed Forces, targeting nine terrorist infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoK). The operation was in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 26 civilians, including one Nepali national.
Following the operation, the conflict between India and Pakistan escalated, leading to increased cross-border shelling from Pakistan and retaliatory action from the Indian Armed Forces. On May 10, both countries agreed to cease hostilities when US President Donald Trump announced a “ceasefire” between India and Pakistan on his Truth Social platform.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri confirmed that Pakistan’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) contacted his Indian counterpart to agree on halting military actions. Misri noted that both sides had issued instructions to enforce the ceasefire and were scheduled to hold further DGMO-level talks on May 12 at noon.
However, just hours after the agreement, Pakistan violated the ceasefire by sending drones, which were intercepted by India’s air defense amid a blackout in Srinagar. India strongly condemned the violations and called on Pakistan to take responsible actions to maintain the ceasefire.
India remains vigilant and has warned that any further violations will be met with robust retaliation. (ANI)
