
New Delhi [India], October 22 (ANI): Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal will undertake an official visit to Berlin, Germany, from October 23, aiming to strengthen India-Germany trade and investment relations. The visit coincides with the 25th anniversary of the India-Germany Strategic Partnership, reflecting the enduring depth and resilience of bilateral ties.
During his visit, Minister Goyal will hold high-level meetings with German officials, including Katherina Reiche, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, and Levin Holle, Economic and Financial Policy Advisor at the Federal Chancellery. He will also meet Germany’s G7 and G20 Sherpa to explore avenues for enhanced trade and investment cooperation.
In addition, the Minister will meet Xavier Bettel, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Luxembourg, to discuss bilateral trade relations, Luxembourg’s upcoming state visit to India, regional developments, and key international issues.
Minister Goyal will participate as a speaker at the third Berlin Global Dialogue (BGD), an annual summit that brings together global leaders from business, government, and academia. He will join the panel session titled “Leaders’ Dialogue: Growing Together – Trade and Alliances in a Changing World,” focusing on strategies for navigating evolving global trade dynamics and fostering sustainable economic growth.
A significant component of the visit includes one-on-one meetings with CEOs of leading German companies, such as Schaeffler Group, Renk Vehicle Mobility Solutions, Herrenknecht AG, Infineon Technologies AG, Enertrag SE, and Mercedes-Benz Group AG. The Minister will also chair a roundtable with leaders of German Mittelstand companies and meet representatives from the Federation of German Industries (BDI) and the Asia-Pacific Association of German Business (APA).
“These interactions will provide a platform to explore synergies, facilitate investments, and promote stronger business-to-business linkages, particularly in sectors aligned with sustainability, innovation, and advanced manufacturing,” the ministry said.
The visit underscores India’s efforts to deepen strategic alignment with its European partners and translate high-level commitments into sustainable economic partnerships fostering innovation, resilience, and shared growth. (ANI)
